New Testament Challenge – February 8, 2019

Feb 8 – 24:29-44 – “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away” (Mat 24:35)

Everything changes around me. All the time. Even I change. At the time I resist the idea of being in this constant state of flux. I desire, at times, for things and people to remain stable so that I can catch up. But this would mean halting life, putting it on hold. It means death. Changing means maturing, growing up.

It also means that in the midst of life, no matter how chaotic it can be I have to find something stable, something that will allow me to find always my way home. Yes: I need a “north start,” the one that old seafarers used to orient themselves.

The start, the stable point, the One who will not pass is God, and His word allows me to find myself, my values, my direction in life. Then, nothing will move my path. Let heaven and earth pass, I know where I am standing: on God’s Word!
