April 25 – Luke 16:18-17:10 – “And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” (Lk17:5)
As a disciple of Jesus, I walk by faith. Every step I take is shaped by my commitment to follow Jesus. Nothing else. Nobody else. I know He is committed to empowering me to live my life to the fullest. But my human reality, with all its complications, gets in the way and makes me forget about who I am supposed to be. When this happens, I feel like I just do things because I have to.
I must continuously make this verse my prayer. My faith must steadily grow so that I can see the one who lives at my door as my brother, and not as a servant. Faith allows me to respect relationships, correct and guide others fraternally, and extend forgiveness. My faith grows in two ways, which must both increase together: allow God to continue working in me through a life of Grace, and deepen my knowledge and strengthen my commitment to live the Gospel.
